2019 WHL Bantam Draft Preview

The 2019 WHL Bantam Draft is set for Thursday morning, May 2nd, from Red Deer, Alberta and the Prince George Cougars will be picking twice in the first-round of the draft for the second consecutive year. Last year, the Cougars selected forward Craig Armstrong (9th) and goaltender Tyler Brennan (21st) with their two first-round selections. Who will it be this year?

General Manager Mark Lamb says they’ve been hard at work readying for the draft in Red Deer, “We’re doing our homework, formulating our lists and getting as much background information as possible on every player we’re interested in. There’s a lot of talent in this draft, especially in the first round. We are looking forward to Thursday morning.”

The Cougars draft inventory is front-loaded, with four picks in the first two rounds and they have six through the first six rounds. Just like last year, it’s another important draft for the Cougars, as they look to add to a young nucleus.
