5 QUESTIONS WITH: TYSON PHARE
On May 4, 2017 the Prince George Cougars selected Tyson Phare with their first pick (18th Overall) in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft. Earlier this week the team announced that Tyson and his family have committed to the Cougars! Here are 5 Questions With… the newest member of the Prince George Cougars, Tyson Phare, presented as always by Excel Painting!

Signed with the Cougars Earlier This Week
Q 1: Tell us about Draft Day. Where you were, and how did you react when you learned you were coming to the PG Cougars 18th Overall?
TP: I was in my living room watching on my lap top. We had an idea that Prince George was interested, and then when they called my name it was hugs all around. Then I got a call from Todd Harkins, then a call from Bob Simmonds, then a call from Richard Matvichuk, and then you (Dan O’Connor). It was a crazy hour and a bit for me. A moment I’ll never forget.
Q 2: What was it about the Cougars and the presentation from Todd Harkins that made signing with the club so seamless?
TP: It was just the way they came across and presented their information. Todd talked a lot about how well the Cougars take care of their players and how the Cougars have worked really hard to be a first class organization. Everything is done professionally. It’s always been my dream to play in the WHL and once my parents were convinced it was an easy decision from there.
Q 3: How does it feel to be invited to the U-16 Summer Provincial Camp/What would it mean to you to represent your province at the 2017 Challenge Cup?
TP: It’s a great honor. It’s been a lot of hard work and much more hard work is still to come. It’s going to be a great experience getting to know some of the guys that I don’t know too well and to be on that team and to be able to represent B.C. would be a great opportunity. I’ll be working extremely hard over the next month or so to make sure that I’m ready.
Q 4: What is your favorite/least favorite subject in school?
TP: My favorite subject is Science. It comes naturally to me and it interests me the most. I like to know how the way things work in the world we live in. My least favorite subject is French. I’m struggling through it but I’m making my way through it.
Q 5: If you were given $100 right now outside of a mall and you only had 30 minutes to go and spend it all. What would you go and buy for yourself?
TP: Oh I don’t know. Maybe a pair of flashy runners. I don’t have a particular favorite brand, but I’d say anything that catches my eye when I walk in the store.
