Prince George, BC
Please note: due to a communication barrier between myself and Rowdy Cat, a translator was consulted for this interview.
What can you tell us about your offseason training?
RC: I travelled to Geneva, Switzerland to work with a world-renowned trainer. The Swiss people were very welcoming and have truly mastered the fine mascot arts. I was following a strict nutrition and exercise regimen and closely studied the opera La mascotte by French composer Edmund Audran; this opera is credited with popularizing the word “mascot” to mean lucky charm.
Switzerland is far from home! What did you miss most about Prince George?
RC: I missed my friends! The boys were all back home or doing their own training but we chatted on FaceTime. I also missed skating in my own barn and going swimming at West Lake.
We all remember the time you threw a pie in the face of a Rowdy Fan on his birthday… was that a fun prank or was it revenge?
RC: I’ve known those guys for years. We bug each other sometimes with pranks but we’re friends, even though they’re always trying to steal my thunder! Jokes aside, it was just for fun and I’m excited to get rowdy with them again this season!
Which feature game are you most excited for this year?
RC: I’m excited for Teddy Bear Toss to throw a mini plush version of myself on the ice! I’ve always wanted to score the Teddy Bear goal, but it’s never happened. Maybe one day!
What’s the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you?
This summer, the City of PG was re-paving the concrete in front of the Cougars office and I accidentally ran through the wet cement on my way in… it was funny until the cement dried on my fur!
