COUGARS DEAL BRAD MORRISON TO THE VANCOUVER GIANTS

Prince George Cougars General Manager Todd Harkins announced today that the Prince George Cougars have traded 1997-born forward Brad Morrison (Prince George, B.C.) to the Vancouver Giants in exchange for a second round pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.

Originally selected seventh overall by the Cougars in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft, Morrison has played 260 career regular season games with the Prince George Cougars. In that span, he has recorded 85 goals, 103 assists and 136 penalty minutes. In 11 career playoff games with the Cougars he added three goals and eight assists for 11 points. He represented Team WHL in the 2016 Canada Russia Series and sits 10th all-time in Cougars scoring with 188 points. He was selected in the fourth round of the 2015 NHL Draft by the New York Rangers and in 2013 he represented Team Pacific in the World Under-17 Challenge.

“We want to thank Brad for contributing to the Prince George Cougars success over the past four seasons. He played a huge part in helping us make the playoffs in each of the past three seasons and gaining a B.C. Division title,” said General Manager, Todd Harkins. “The reality is that we need to start recouping some draft picks, and that means trading a player of Brad’s calibre and giving him a change of scenery. This trade allows him to stay close to home in Vancouver with an up-and-coming Giants team. We wish him the very best in his 20-year-old season in the Western Hockey League.”
