Prince George Cougars goaltender Taylor Gauthier is listed on NHL Central Scouting’s November “Players to Watch List” for the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Gauthier once again earned a ‘B’ rating, which indicates he’s a potential 2nd-3rd round pick in the draft. Gauthier retaining his pre-season ranking which was announced in early October.
In 14-games this season, the 17-year-old has a 5-6-1-1 record, sporting a 2.84 goals-against average and owns a .910 save percentage. Gauthier picked up his first career WHL shutout on November 3rd, stopping all 37-shots he faced in a 2-0 win over the Seattle Thunderbirds. In his last two starts, the Calgary, Alberta native has a 1.02 goals-against average and a .970 save percentage. Gauthier is one of three WHL goaltenders to earn a ‘B’ rating and one of just six in the entire CHL.
