Marincin, Marlies One Win Away from AHL Championship

Alumnus Martin Marincin and the Toronto Marlies are one win away from the franchise’s first ever AHL Calder Cup championship, as they lead the Texas Stars 3-2 in the best-of-seven final.

Toronto scored a 6-2 win in Game Five on Saturday and host Game Six tomorrow and if necessary, Game Seven on Thursday. Marincin has played in 18 playoff games for the Marlies, registering one goal and eight points, to go along with a plus eight rating.

The  Kosice, Slovakia, product, played two seasons in the WHL with the Cougars (2010-2012), accumulating 18 goals and 73 points in 97 career regular season games, before a mid-season trade to Regina during the 2011-12 season.
