Hamhuis Recognized for 1,000 Games

Alum and Part-Owner Dan Hamhuis was recognized by the Dallas Stars Monday, as he recently played his 1,000th game in the NHL. The Smithers, BC, product has split 1,000 games in the NHL, between Nashville, Vancouver and Dallas.

Hamhuis played four seasons with the Cougars from 1998-2002, playing in 247 career regular season games, compiling 34 goals and 189 points. He also played for Canada twice at the 2001 and 2002 World Junior Hockey Championship, winning silver and bronze.

He’s represented Canada at six World Championships, winning two gold medals and two silver medals, and he won a gold medal at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
