Canada earned their second win in as many days Friday at the IIHF U18 World Championship in Sweden, defeating Switzerland 7-4.

Forward Brayden Tracey (Calgary, Alta. / Moose Jaw Warriors) had a pair of goals and an assist for Canada, following a two-goal performance in Thursday’s tournament-opening comeback for Canada against Finland.

Captain Peyton Krebs (Okotoks, Alta. / Winnipeg ICE) and Connor Zary (Saskatoon, Sask. / Kamloops Blazers) each had a goal and an assist in the win. Dylan Cozens (Whitehorse, Yukon / Lethbridge Hurricanes).

Leading 3-0 after 20 minutes, Canada nearly coughed up the lead, but held a tight 4-3 advantage heading to the third. There, Canada struck for three more goals to finish off the game. Tracey’s second goal of the night counted as the game-winning goal while Cozens added the insurance marker.

Taylor Gautheir (Calgary, Alta. / Prince George Cougars) stopped 24 shots to pick up the win.

Tracey currently ranks fifth in tournament scoring with five points (4G-1A) through two games. Krebs ranks sixth with four points (2G-2A). Gauthier leads all players at the tournament in saves made with 63 through two games. His .900 save percentage ranks fourth.

Canada will have Saturday off at the tournament, returning to action Sunday against Belarus.
