Mega 50/50 Jackpot Winner Todd Corrigall recaps his big win

Todd Corrigall picked a perfect time to renovate his kitchen.

Todd was the winner of the Cougars’ Mega 50/50 Jackpot night on Nov. 13th, as he won just over forty-thousand dollars. Todd took a break from his kitchen renovation to talk to us about his jackpot win.

“We got a whole bunch of quotes about a kitchen reno one-two weeks before that game. My wife and I had been debating when to renovate our kitchen. Not easy when you have a 20-month-old too. So, the timing was pretty incredible.”

Todd went to the game with a friend and said he bought bunch of tickets online before the game and a whole bunch at the game and “stuffed the ball of tickets” in his pants pocket. When the winning numbers were about to be announced, he joked to his friend that “this is going to take a while,” as he pulled the mess of tickets out.

“No joke, the first number I saw was the winning number,” said Corrigall. “I paused and just was in a sense of shock. I never won anything before. It was a weird sensation, not like out of body, but was almost gliding as I got out of my seat and went to claim my ticket.”

Todd said the first he did was text his wife at home, but he didn’t hear from her until after the game. The kitchen reno was top of mind.

“I got into the car, and she finally phoned. She said I think right now is the time to do it.”

Todd is the Prince George Chamber of Commerce CEO and said he was just happy to support a great cause, as all proceeds from that went to the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation and Cardiac Care in the North. He and his wife also plan to put a chunk of the winnings into their daughter’s education fund.

“You never think it’s going to happen to you. I always try and support these types of events, so at the end of the day you’re at least supporting a great cause.”

This time around, Todd not only supported a great cause, but he also hit the jackpot.

“But yeah, people actually do win these things!”
