Moberg to Attend Chicago Blackhawks Development Camp

The Prince George Cougars are proud to announce that defenceman Cole Moberg (’00) has been invited to the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks Development Camp.

Moberg was drafted by the Blackhawks in the seventh-round, 194thoverall, in the 2019 NHL Draft. The North Vancouver, B.C. product is one of 36-players attending the development camp, which runs July 15th-19thin Chicago, IL at Fifth Third Arena.

The 18-year-old had a career year in the 2018-2019 season. In 61 regular seasons games, he posted career highs in goals (13), assists (27) and points (40). He led all Cougars’ defencemen in scoring and was third in team scoring. His 13 goals were tied for eighth among Western Hockey League defencemen.  Moberg won the Cougars’ Eric Brewer Award this past season, which is awarded to the team’s top defenceman.

Moberg was signed by the Cougars in August of 2016 and to date has played in 129 career regular season games, where he has compiled 16 goals and 36 assists for 52 points. He is the second Cougar to attend an NHL Development Camp this summer. Taylor Gauthier (’01) attended the Boston Bruins Development Camp last month.
