Despite two power-play goals from Vladislav Mikhalchuk in the second period, the Prince George Cougars fell 5-2 to the Tri-City Americans on Tuesday at the Toyota Center. The Americans scored five unanswered goals, three in the second period, to erase a 2-1 deficit. The Cougars fired 41-shots on the Americans’ Beck Warm. Isaiah DiLaura was tagged with the loss, stopping 19 of 23 shots.

SPECIAL TEAMS AFFAIR: The second period was dominated by special teams. Of the five second period goals, four were scored either on the power-play or shorthanded. Mikhalchuk scored two power-play goals 82-seconds apart in the middle frame.
SEASON SERIES: The Americans have won the first three match ups against the Cougars, and Tuesday was the second time they scored five goals against the Cougars this season. The season series wraps up on January 8th, back in Kennewick.
