The Prince George Cougars earned the weekend sweep Saturday, after picking up a 2-0-win over the Seattle Thunderbirds. A season-high 3,585 fans watched Taylor Gauthier pick up his first career shutout after a brilliant 37-save performance. Cole Moberg and Jackson Leppard scored in the first and second period respectively. Saturday was the team’s annual “Pink in the Rink” night.

STREAKS:Cole Moberg has three goals and seven-points in the last five games; he’s scored in two of the last three games. The 18-year-old defenceman now has 12 points in 17-games, already surpassing his total from last season (11).
GOOSE EGG: Gauthier’s shutout was the first of his career and the first by any Cougars goaltender since October 1st, 2017, when the Cougars shutout the Portland Winterhawks 3-0 on the road. Gauthier stopped 37-shots, including 17 in the third period.
PINK IN THE RINK: The Cougars partnered with the Northland Auto Group and the Canadian Cancer Society, to raise money and awareness for cancer research in Northern B.C. The Mega 50/50 jackpot topped out at just under $60, 000. The Cougars wore specialty pink, cancer awareness, jerseys that are being auctioned off online (www.pgcougars.com)
