The 2020 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft is set for tomorrow, June 30th, at 8:00 am PST.

The two-round draft will take place online with the order of selection rotating through each of the CHL’s three leagues using an inverse order of final regular season standings within each league from the 2019-20 season. The Cougars are picking 12th overall and will only select once as 2019 Import Draft pick, Filip Koffer (Czech Republic), is set to return next season. The Cougars’ pick actually is in the top 10, as the two teams ahead of them, the Ontario Hockey League’s Soo Greyhounds (10th) and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s Baie-Comeau Drakkar (11th), have already declared they will pass on both of their selections.

Last year the Cougars used their first-round selection (10th) to take Koffer. In 2018 the Cougars took Matéj Toman (fifth) in the first round and in 2017 they selected Vladislav Mikhalchuk (54th) in the first round. The Cougars have drafted forwards with their last five picks in the CHL Import Draft. Here’s a look at the Cougars’ picks since 2010:
